Getting in touch with winners

The sudden announcement of the lockdown has put pressure on the team so we will be a little slower than we had hoped getting in touch with potential winners of the competition. Please don’t worry if you haven’t heard anything. We will be contacting everyone who submitted Challenge 7B before the first deadline who had maximum marks for part B of the competition in order to congratulate them and to discuss eligibility for prizes. There were a lot of you and we only have a few prizes, so don’t get too excited if you get a message from us, but do please reply by email as specified in the message so we know you have got it and can work out who the winners are. We will be asking for information and it is important that you get back to us so we can treat you all fairly.
We will contact you by sending a message to your account area here on the website, and I will post on the forum when those messages are going out. When you see that message, please log on and regularly check your account page to see if there is a message for you.

We have now posted a message to the team captains/individuals in the top 20 of the overall leaderboard to discuss eligibility for a prize, so if you submitted a completely correct solution to 7B in the first points band then please open you account page and check for the message. It asks you to get in touch and to provide some information so we can assign the four prizes we have available. We know that means 16 of you will be slightly disappointed by the outcome but we hope the fact that you have been shortlisted will be a consolation, and in any case some of the top 20 may be ineligible, so your odds might be slightly better than they look.

We haven’t received a message despite getting all challenges including 7B within the timeframe to receive the maximum number of points – was some other criteria used to shortlist teams?

Apologies for a slight misunderstanding arising from the way I phrased things earlier. We have contacted the top 20 teams on the draft leaderboard to discuss eligibility etc, and if after processing the initial replies from them we have not determined all four prize places then we will issue another set of requests for info to the next teams on the list. Apologies for misleading (and disappointing) you.
