There is clearly not enough wailing and moaning in the forum. Challenge 7B must not be hard enough.

24th December 2020 at 6:51 am #52768F6exbParticipant0a37ac3831606eab8318db6f4b0e7ab4
Now it is correct. I had a problem with a %26 😉F6EXBPLAINTEXT

Thanks for the fun extra challenge, Madness. Who needs cribs anyway?
Have a great Christmas, everyone!
24th December 2020 at 8:39 pm #52773MadnessParticipantSorry guys/gals, the checksums don’t match. The MD5 of the plaintext alone is 71a4b42115aeb559133a06531acdef5d.
It’s safe to tell you that, since you can’t use this information to fake a correct checksum that includes your name.Cribs? We don’t need no stinkin’ cribs.
29th December 2020 at 2:40 pm #52776TsyzygyParticipantThat’s odd… I get that too. My hash was of PLAINTEXTTSYZYGY. I thought I’d mentioned that in my post, but it got removed for some reason. Does that work? If not, perhaps it would be proof enough to tell you that the word used to generate the key for the outer ring of the clock is the 12th word of the plaintext? (I’m pretty sure that provides absolutely no help in solving it, so I’m afraid this isn’t a clue, for anyone out there trying to solve it!!)

My plaintext was not entirely cleaned. There was a “return” at the end.29th December 2020 at 2:44 pm #52787LevpolParticipantMD5 of LEVPOLPLAINTEXT is 2c9eda1d83683b3130e738752e5fb0fe
Thanks, Madness. A nice diversion after the excesses of Christmas day!
29th December 2020 at 2:45 pm #5278867105112104101114ParticipantThis was a nice one madness, I like the message, only seen it today, the MD5 of PLAINTEXT67105112104101114 is: 9843756633a2b3cbbf54df4a2ffa8e5b

Thanks for the challenge Madness4th January 2021 at 5:05 pm #52845Mattyrat2027Participant@Madness oh don’t worry I’ve solved it now. Why is everyone saying things about MD5? I don’t really understand that – is it just a way of proving that it was solved correctly? If so, how do i find my MD5?
4th January 2021 at 5:08 pm #52838Mattyrat2027Participant@Madness I have found what I believe to be the correct cipher alphabet if my bigrams tell the truth, but I don’t know which letter out of 28 is the start letter. Would it work to encrypt it from any position and use a Caeser Cipher to find the actual plaintext?
Thanks
