Oh, never mind.
30th January 2021 at 5:51 pm #53169The-letter-wrigglerParticipant@Madness I’m late seeing this.
What do you mean – ‘oh, never mind’ it is a valid point you make.Yes I am aware of the web mangling but it completely slipped my mind, sorry.
All the Double quotes and all the single quotes are one and the same ASCII character.
Dec____Hex____Binary______Character
34_____22_____00100010____”
39_____27_____00100111____’I do not see a long bar and no two hyphens appear together.
Check – There are 1129 cipher characters in total including the all important space.
(454 letters, 17 digits, and 658 other characters total 1129.)There may be other ways of solving this but if you were using the cipher intended
you would know that the f could not be an * in this instance of the cipher.Birthday? Party? The second part of the subtitle is a hint.

I stumbled across it, and I remembered by Morse/binary code earlier on. With a bit of research, it turns out that a unique character set is picked for a space, dash and dot. With that in mind, I encrypted this:

8th February 2021 at 2:44 pm #53206The-letter-wrigglerParticipant@Pandarran MD5 Checks out, well done
Pleased you enjoyed it, but there is no way I could give you or anyone the prize! 😉
8th February 2021 at 2:44 pm #53208MadnessParticipantDid you know that Gemini is one of the constellations of the zodiac and is located in the northern celestial hemisphere?
9th February 2021 at 4:48 pm #53237MadnessParticipantEveryone seems to be excited about Morse-based ciphers, so here is a Morbit ciphertext I found on the web.
(see http://www.cryptogram.org/downloads/aca.info/ciphers/Morbit.pdf)
The plaintext is meaningless, but the keyword is the goal. plaintext without punctuation + F6EXB: 748F1A995262ECD86AD0E52D8F2924BE10th February 2021 at 2:46 pm #53244MadnessParticipant@F6exb, I don’t match. But it’s OK. I didn’t make the challenge. Maybe you could just answer the question at the end of the plaintext.
Then do #53191.10th February 2021 at 3:11 pm #53246Mattyrat2027Participant@Anyone or @Madness because I know you know how
How do you automate a Dictionary Attack, or at least finding a word with the correct criteria? Preferably on a spreadsheet, because I can’t code and don’t have the software.
10th February 2021 at 4:05 pm #53248MadnessParticipant@Mattyrat2027, I don’t know how to use a spreadsheet. In python the problem is very easy to solve: check every word from a file to see whether it fits the criterion.
