There is a surprising number of potential winners who have not emailed us as requested in the message posted on their accounts. If you submitted a complete and correct solution to challenge 7B at or before 8pm on the first day and got full marks on all the rounds then please check your account for a message from us and reply by email so we know you have seen it. Even if you need more time to send us the answers to our questions it would be good to know that you are on it!

We will need to hear from you before 11pm on Thursday 15th January.

Also I don’t think Thursday 15th January exists (atleast in 2021). Did you mean Friday?

[Good catch. I did mean Thursday 14th January, but we will accept replies up to Friday 15th. We have tried to contact the missing teams/individuals directly where we can, but it is critical that they get in touch with us themselves before the deadline. Will there be a reply by email for the repliers that have replied to the message posted on the repliers’ account? (<- Please respond to this question)
Will the repliers need to reply by email to the reply that is replying to their reply that is replying to the message posted on the repliers’ account? (This question is less serious but maybe someone can start a chain? 😉)

[Yes, there will. We had hoped to have responded by now, but the delay in getting information from some of the contestants, together with Covid, has slowed us down. Apologies to those waiting to hear something. Harry]

Also, you (Harry) said at or before 8pm on the first day in your message which is different to what the challenges say to get full points (11pm). Does this mean people who solve after 8pm will no longer be able to get a prize 😰 (hopefully this shouldn’t be the case)? Or is this 8pm on the first day referring to something else?

[We had initially planned to phase our comms with everyone submitting before 11pm, expecting the fastest competitors to be waiting for a message and ready to reply. Unfortunately, some of the fastest have not yet responded, and we did not want to raise expectations with people a bit further down the table without hearing from the others first. The lack of response has slowed us down, and we are trying to set realistic expectations while we wait to hear from them. Harry]
